Formula D

The famous F1 game returns! Discover the all new Formula D today.

We've been telling you about it recently - F1 is making a comeback in stores: Formula Dé is dead, long live Formula D! Get ready to push your engine to its limit, to hug the curves in the tight corners, but also to keep up with your opponents to take advantage of the air flow and pass them to win... Taking risks and planning ahead are two qualities you'll need as a pilot if you want to stand on the highest step of the podium!

Formula D is also the excitement of illegal racing in the streets of big cities - anything goes: custom cars, nitro acceleration, drifting in the curves, dirty tricks... The game mechanics stay the same, but use specific rules, cars and tracks.

You will also discover, in this new edition of Formula D, elements unseen up to now, such as painted race cars, dashboards, pilot profiles, and tracks... Very soon we'll unveil the new, high-tech elements which have been created in our ultra-secret lab.

4 Circuit Map :: Grand Prix d'Algiers (Staouéli)
circuit01-stauoeli_large.gif
The course for the 1930s circuit at Staouéli, Algeria, being used in the PBEM La Grande Épreuve: http://www.historicwings.com/grandprix1934/ http://grandprix1934.blogspot.com/ CIRCUIT NOTES: The track is large (historically, the course was over 7 km) with very long straights allowing drivers to hit 6th Gear, but with tight hairpin turns defining the corners. A center section through and out of the town of Staouéli, involves some good chicanes and reversals, making for a complicated center run that separates the men from the boys. At the end, a tight hairpin (value: 2) makes for an interesting gamble and tactical problem before the final run to the finish line. DISCUSSION: For racing pilots, after a long run down a starting straight away, ahead lies the town of Staouéli, where they will face their first real driving challenge. It will be a fast start, rapidly pushing engines and shifting to the highest gears before braking into the sudden right hand turn in the city center, at Place Staouéli. After that, in quick succession, they'll face the curves of Ibn Ziri, El Wahid, and the deadly chicane called Sinistere, before racing down another long straight to the hairpin turn at La Trappe, followed by another long straight to the final hairpin here at La Bridja, and then racing home for the checkered flag.
